Fall and Halloween

Avia was Cinderella and Rylan was a Bear for Halloween. I promise he wasn't mad about the fact!
I can't believe how fast they are growing.
Leaves on our flowering pear tree.
The miniature rose was still blooming. Makes a pretty combination with the changing colors.

Christmas in the Air

We decorated and it has finally made me feel that it's really December! Here is the proof.

Simplicity

I got this quote from someones web page. I don't know who. If you know, tell me who wrote it. It's great and says it all. "You can't always change things. Sometimes you don't have no control over the way things go. Hail ruins the crops, fire burns you out. And then you're just given so much to work with in a life and you have to do the best you can with what you got. That's what piecing is. The materials is passed on to you or is all you can afford to buy....that's just what's given to you. Your fate. But the way you put them together is your business."

New christmas table topper

I made this with the intention to teach at the Enrichment night, but decided not to because it would be too much work for everyone. So...it is mine alone! Cathy helped me pick out the fabric on a trip to Material Girls in south Jordan. This needs to be quilted. Maybe by hand using crochet thread, or maybe by machine. Haven't decided yet.

Some quilts I made

I designed this for a kit at the store. One of Avia's quilts from gramma. Another kit I did for July. LeAnn and I designed this for fall. There are only 2 of these. Runner from "Peas and Carrots" charm pack.

Spring

The sun is shining and beconing me outside, but, I hear the windchimes warning me of the cold day. I see the June grass starting to grow and know I need to get out and till the ground to stop the growth or we will be battling it later on.
I am already planning to grow a nice garden this year. Last year was a bomb...my fault...and I have repented of the fact that I just didn't want to deal with it.
With the prices continually rising in the grocery stores, I know I will be happy I worked hard growing and harvesting. Two years ago I planted broccoli and froze it. We were eating it until February 2008! I plan on redoing the herb garden.
I am teaching a quilting class. We are making a darling table runner. That class is April 1st at my home. April 24th I am teaching a Prarie Flower quilt class. Both applique, which is a love of mine.
